The company that manufactured this stunning tea service actually started as the Mount Washington Glassworks. The original company was founded in 1837 in South Boston but was later moved to New Bedford in 1870. In 1880, a brittaniaware firm opened on the land beside the Mount Washington Glassworks and was named Pairpoint Manufacturing. Over the years, the company garnered a reputation for extraordinary silverplate design. The set includes a tea pot (5 1/8" height), creamer (3 1/2" height), sugar bowl with lid (5 7/8" height), and waste bowl (3 3/4" height).
