Glass Study Group - January 2004
Since
December had been a cold and frosty month, we talked about Milk or opal white
glass, thinking of the seasonal Snow! Fourteen persons participated sharing light
refreshments and glass. We learned one of the most enduring forms in milk glass
has been the covered dish or bowl. The most popular of these for over a century
has been the Hen on a Nest. One is shown here in the foreground. Another common
form used for many decades has been milk glass candlesticks, several of which
appear in the photo background. Several people in our study group specialize in
candlesticks and some in specific types of those such as crucifixion or dolphin
forms.
